You can bid for adverting per click with Google. Google has a huge market share, an effective advertising program, so if your only concern is traffic, this is that way to go.
However, Google forces advertisers with the same keywords to bid against each other, and it can get very expensive very quickly.
Still, if you want a lot of traffic, they’re probably the most effective search engine.

This one i use myself, and they also have a very good alexa ranking, of being in the top 2000 websites. I’ll also include others if you’re budget don’t allow the 1st one. They’re also good companies, and they will most certainly help you in getting those much needed traffic every website needs.
