What are the rules regarding promotion of unapproved Marian apparitions!?
In my Church bulletin they have published the monthly message given by Mary in Medjugorje, which is an unapproved Marian apparition site. Also this upcoming Sunday, Vassula Ryden, an unapproved visionary will be speaking at our Church. But on the 7th of May it will be the 2nd anniversary of the Virgin Mary’s apparition to a local visionary, who is being investigated. The priest did not allow them to announce an invitation to the home of Our Lady of the Rays on this sacred day? Does this not seem a little biased?

Maybe your church is preventing what are essentially cult activities.

Those Martians are getting everywhere. I’m getting tired of seeing the little green fellows wherever I look. And before anyone accuses me of being Martianist, can I just say they’ve got their own planet into the mess it’s currently in without coming over here and destroying ours.

We had the same issue in Maryland a few years ago. The Church must take great care in deciding whether to grant their approval to these apparitions. What would happen if for example the Church granted approval and the next week the visionary said that Mary told the believers to kill themselves. Moreover, we need to be one Universal Church. In Maryland the followers started to have their own meetings and services which threatened the unity of the Church

I think you need to give more room to your priest for discernment ; let him do his job ; the fact that he is allowing messages of our Blessed Mother to be printed in his bulletin shows that he does not reject apparitions indiscriminately ; he is obviously trying to discern what is best for his parishioners ; Medjugorje and Vassula Ryden have both been thoroughly investigated at the highest level of the Church ; the fact that they have not been condemned after years of investigation is a very good sign ; incidentally the messages of Vassula Ryden bear the Nihil Obstat of Bishop Felix Toppo and the Imprimatur of Bishop Ramon Arguelles
