1. Write and submit articles . It is a classic, but it works. This will create traffic and promote your website for years to come. Write quality unique articles, not articles that are regenerated or provide no insight to readers, which is a huge problem these days.
2. Submit ads to a high pagerank and high traffic Classified ad site such as USFreeads.
3. Make sure to view related products on Amazon.com. You can try and take some customers from your competitors here by providing your own url if the product is similar.
4. Review websites in your niche on Alexa to try to take some of their traffic by including a reference back to your site.
5. Review some related products on epinion.
6. If you purchase a product that you actually like, then feel free to give an individual respect when respect is due and leave a testimonial. 7. Whenever you send an email to someone, include your website url as a signature.
8. Keep updating content on your websites/blogs… try at least once per week, if not twice.
9. Tag blog posts at social bookmarking sites. Sign up to Onlywire.
10. Add pictures to your blog with appropriate keywords.
You can do this all tasks yourself if you are well known online website marketing if you are novoice you can hire a Internet Marketing company who can do this all tasks for you with cheap fee plans.
Otherwise I’d suggest you to hire a Internet Marketing services provider company who may help you to generate a good traffic. I know a company http://www.magicsolv.com, I found it best for me.
I hope this will help you.
Good luck!!

Content is the first part of promoting your website. If you don’t have good content, you’re not going to get people to convert on your website. Good relevant content also gets you good ranking with search engines and will get you listed faster.
A great way to build links to your website and to get traffic going there is to utilize social networking sites like facebook and myspace to post content about your website and links back to your home page.
Another way to do this is to utilize social bookmarking websites like digg.com, technorati, reddit, delicious, and all of the other hundreds of sites out there.
Now, you can go through and spend hours upon hours building these links or you can use a widely accepted solution that most Internet marketers use. I have used quite a few different products for this and have found Bookmarking Demon to be the best. There are other products but this is the best one to use for amount of links getting through and for not getting you banned from the sites. Very important.
Also, you should check out Google Analytics and get your website setup with it. How do you know if the things you’re doing are increasing your traffic if you’re not tracking it?
Let me know if you have any other questions.

You’re looking for the wrong thing.
You should be looking for the most effective ways to promote your website. And, chances are that’s not the easiest way.
Think about this, for a moment. If you do the easiest ways and everyone else does the easiest ways, what do you think’s going to happen? Yep, you’re going to be doing the same thing as everyone else and you’re going to get the same poor results.
Be effective, and do things differently! That’s what you should be trying to find out: how can I promote my website successfully!
And the answer to that question is this:
1) Create compelling content, and keep on doing so
2) Build inbound links to this compelling content, and keep on doing so.
Example?
YouTube
Do you think the people at YouTube write articles, swap links or any of the other blah-blah people have written as answers? They don’t. You can do what’s suggested just as long as you do it differently to everybody else.
Think differently, and get different (better) results.
PS One way of getting just a little website traffic to your site is by answering Yahoo! Answers questions for your related niche, like I’ve just done…
