If I’m not mistaken, Google gives the search results by the number of people actually visiting a site. But sometimes it is likely that we miss some good sites due to low page ranking. But still they may provide very good information on what we want. If you heard about ‘Kosmix’, it is a new search engine still being developed by two Indians. The results aren’t displayed ‘entirely’ by page ranking but are categorized according to the information they provide, I mean definition of the word, expert information, sales, services, journals, blogs and that kind of stuff.
And the developers are saying that ‘Kosmix’ can give information faster than Google.

..problems with internet searches. When I click on a link from a search it gets redirected to another search engine or a marketing site, but never goes to the site it is supposed to. I ran a program called Bazooka Scanner and it found the problem. But it does not remove the problem. I’ve run Malwarebytes, IObit Security 360, Advanced System Care with no success. Anyone familiar with this infection and know how to remove it? Any advice will be appreciated!

I just started using Maxthon browser since Firefox has been acting up. I need help with some of the settings though. First off I need to know how to apply a search engine to my search bar on the top right. I tried making it go to google rather than Bing. But now that I changed the url of the original engine it provided, it now just brings me to google’s main page rather than the search query listings.

Although Google is the most popular search engine in most countries, it is not as popular as its major competitors in China. The same goes for Youtube, MSN, Facebook, etc. Does it have to do with the way these companies market their product or is it only because Chinese people prefer to use Chinese-owned websites?

I have a blog on blogspot. I went to the Google Blogspot search engine, but it doesn’t just search their blogs. I have tried and tried to find my own blog that way and cannot find it (although I know how to get to it via my Favorites). I just want to see how others, through a search engine, could find it.
