Where should I place Google's verification meta tag with a non-html based & simple site builder like Webs.com?

I used an online site building editor called Webs.com to build a website and it’s already indexed in Google search engine, but its status remains unverified, so I can’t check ranking stats and all that. I registered for a Google Webmasters account and tried to verify the site using either of the 2 methods suggested by Google (uploading an html file to my site, which I did but it returned a 404 File Not Found error). I then tried the ‘meta-tag’ method, where I’m supposed to copy/ paste a given code on a specific place on my site’s homepage and I quote where it’s supposed to go:

" It should go in the section, before the first section".

Now how can I do this with a site builder like webs where nothing on the page says or . How can I tell where on the page to place the tag correctly? A blank page on an editor like Webs.com is exactly that, a blank page, and I just write without having to worry about html coding, just like an MS Word document. Any advice?

Is ClickInc's TruLink for real or total BS?

Here’s the explanation and claim from their website (http://www.clickinc.com/trulink.html):

In any of our competitors’ programs, affiliates will link to you using a unique ID (affiliate will link using http://www.merchant.com/product?affid=XXXX). Google ranks pages using an algorithm that checks how many links are pointing to a web page. Web pages that have more links will always rank higher (Google reckons page must be important since many people link to it).

The problem is that http://www.merchant.com/product (page that you want to achieve high rankings) and http://www.merchant.com/product?affid=XXXX are actually different pages from a Search Engine point of view and as such, even if you have many affiliates, they all seem to link to a different page (since XXXX is a unique number), so affiliate links won’t establish http://www.merchant.com/product as a page with many links to it.

This is where ClickInc.com changes everything

Every time a web page gets a visitor, the referral URL (previous website) is included in the HTTP request. What we did is to have affiliates register their URL with our affiliate software and for every visitor we check if the referral URL matches an affiliate. Think about the referral URL as being used as a unique ID. Since we have a unique ID in the referral URL, affiliates can send traffic by linking directly to http://www.merchant.com/product; hence we called it TruLink.

I thought the SEO experts here can either vouche for this or rip it apart. Have at it please. Is this BS or accurate? does trulink provide a real SEO advantage? if it is accurate, why isn’t everyone offering this?

If not already clear, I have no connection with these guys. Just doing some due diligence on several affiliate platforms.

Best way to bring a web site to top search engines

I tried meta files key words, descriptions Google web master tips yahoo tips and every thing. Still my site is the same position as it used to be. It is page 4 or # 40

I want to bring it page 1 or 1-10 rank.

Do I have to pay for the so-called search engine ranking companies or I can do it by my self. Helppppppppp
I don’t want to pay adworld or yahoo. I want it free not in the sponsor site. I already know that

I am looking for a job, and a place is hiring for this. The job description says i would manage website marketing, like search engine oprimization, internet video, blogging, and other things. Also to use traffic tracking apps to recognice patterns and trends to get effective marketing techniques. I would do this freelance since i am 17 and still in school
So what exactly do you do? also it wants examples, so would i need a degree?? and what would examples be?

How Do I Place Higher In Google?

I understand that the more backlinks you have the better your ranking. Is there any other thing google looks at to place you higher on its search engine? The phrase i’m trying to compete for is "Free iMac", I’m currently #12. I want to at least be on the first page.

I am trying to get my friends anime site listed higher in the Google/Yahoo/etc results for search phrases relating to my site. The site is gurrenlagannepisodes.com, yet searching for "Gurren Lagann Episodes" doesn’t list it until like page 9.

We’ve already done a lot of things, including:
-The site contains plenty of relevant content
-It has relevant metatags, keywords, title, etc
-URLs are search engine friendly
-We have a sitemap
-We have a robots.txt
-We post the site on other sites (linkbacks)

Last day I was searching on Google.I close Google search page but I visit again the site.But this time Google was different which didn’t show the option ( Pages from worldwide and from Local country).The Alexa ranking for search result also didn’t work.
Simply I will say that is look like Bing search engine.And another thing that sometime It look like as the Bing as search result page and sometime it look like as in its old Google page results. Is I am cheating from Google or from Virus. How do I solve this problem.Is this will the end of Google.Because I am tired of such search result page.
With this my youtube page didn’t open and is very slow my knol page is not launching.And also I didn’t get access to some major site.If someone are opening they are very slow.
