How do you get better SEO results for a site if you have already altered the title tags and images?

I am optimizing a site and have 5 keyword phrase i want to show up in Google. I have good Search Engine Optimization (SEO) results for 2 of the keywords. But I can’t figure out how to get the other 3 to become top result in Google. I have inserted the keywords in the title tags and image alt texts. Can anyone tell me what else I need to do.

Website Building SEO Similar keyword Phrases question?

Hi I have a question about search engine optimization SEO which I’m not completely sure about can somebody please help?
I’m currently building a website which I would like to keep inline with all rules and policies of the search engines!
My question is
When I’m using the metatag keywords, if I have several keyword phrases like the examples listed below ( which mean the same) , if I use these 3 example metatag keyword phrases, do I need to make sure all three exact phrases are also in the text content of the page, or is it fine with the text content of just one of them

For example
These three phrases mean the same
how to make money from home
make money from home
make money working from home

What really is Social Media Optimization (SMO)?

I have read a lot about Social Media Optimization (SMO) recently but they all seem to be about using social networking sites like Twitter, LinkedIn, Flickr, MySpace, etc. to create a buzz about my site. Why should I spend my time and money on adding content to other sites that might create buzz about my own? And how do I do that without being labeled a troll?

What I would like is to optimize the User Generated Content (USG) that is already on my site and generate the buzz here, not for some other company. If I could do that I think it would create a networking affect between my users as they share the good stuff? (In a perfect world it would generate the buzz back to my site)

I understand how Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is all about fixing up my website so that search engines can better index it. I want to do that for UGC. Shouldn’t SMO be about making it easy on the users that visit my site?

So how can I do that? Can that even be done? Or am I misunderstanding what SMO is about?

SEO question about keywords?

Hi,
I’m learning web site building and have a question about search engine optimization (SEO). Is it better to have one group of keywords/metatags for the whole site, or should I make seperate set of keywords for each page, based on its’ content?
My hosting and site builder gives me that option, but I dunno whats best.
