What are some SEO or web marketing jobs, in a company setting, that don't require programming skills?

To be clear: I’m familiar with very basic HTML and how to use blogging platforms like WordPress. I’m looking for examples of jobs where you work for a company (not self employed or free lancing) that revolve around SEO and web marketing. NOT article writing or micro site blogging. All suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

Best Job Search Engine?

Does anyone know of a good job search engine besides careerbuilder, monster, indeed, bestjobsusa, or linkup that doesn’t give you all the advertisements and phony jobs? I know there will still be some on there because there always is. I’m a recent college graduate and looking for a job in marketing and that’s what the phony ads are always aimed at! Thanks for any help on great sites!

How can I get small businesses to post their IT contract jobs on my new IT recruitment site?

I’m launching www.skillect.com – new IT job site focusing on contract work. How can I best get traffic to it?
I want to be able to get IT jobs on www.skillect.com quickly – especially from small to medium size companies. As part of a pre-launch promotion, we are offering FREE job posting on the site for a limited period. At the moment I alone am working on this project and am finding it hard to market and promote the site as other bigger sites would. I would really appreciate some help as to how I could get small and medium business/agencies involved. I think skillect.com would be a great asset especially small firms who cannot afford to pay hundreds of pounds to agencies to post their IT vacancies online.

Get Blog Jobs – Fun And Profitable If You Love Blogging

Get Blog Jobs – Fun And Profitable If You Love Blogging

Do you blog? I hope you do, because blogging can do a lot for your freelance writing career. For a writer, blogs are not only an instant-publishing tool, they’re also an opportunity to find great writing jobs.

Blogs are a phenomenon. Although many “A-list” bloggers have been publishing for years and have built up strong audiences, it’s only in the past couple of years that blogs have become mainstream.

Let’s get definitions out of the way. What’s a blog? A blog is just a Web site in which the site’s pages are (usually) published in chronological order. Blogs are based on templates, and have a simple navigational structure, based on chronology, and on categories.

The major benefit of a blog is that it’s instant. If I want to post a message to a blog, I can do it in seconds. Contrast the “instant” nature of a blog with publishing in a newspaper or a magazine. The other major benefit of a blog is that it can be free.

How to Get a Blog Job

Top blogs are usually written by a group, rather than by a single individual, because high-traffic blogs are updated several times a day. This means that many, many blog jobs are available. All you have to do is look for them.

However, before you start looking, create your own small blog first. Anyone who hires you will want to know that you understand the nature of blogging.

Your blog should be in an area in which you want to be hired to blog. For example, if you have experience in health topics, then create a blog on a health topic. Or perhaps you enjoy celebrity gossip. This is a very popular topic in blogging, as it is in magazines, so create a celebrity gossip blog.

With your own small blog created, it’s time to find blog jobs. Yes, that’s plural. Most professional bloggers blog for a stable of blogs. Several colleagues blog for ten to 20 blogs. One friend blogs for many businesses. At last count, he was blogging for 30 blogs, and making an extraordinary income.

There are many ways you can find blogs jobs. The most common way is to approach a business which as a Web site, but which doesn’t have a blog, and to propose a blog to them. If you’re new to blogging, you may find this approach a little intimidating, so let’s look at other ways suitable for new bloggers.

Here are three ways:

1. Use the out-sourcing sites

There are dozens of out-sourcing sites, and you’ll find blog jobs advertised there. Bid on projects, but don’t under-price your services. All writing takes time, and if you under-bid, you’ll be too busy blogging to look for better paying blog jobs. So bid a sensible amount. Genuine buyers will hire you.

2. Approach other bloggers

Another easy way to get blog jobs is to approach other bloggers. This is simple and it works, but although I’ve been blogging since 2001, I’m rarely approached. Maybe such a simple solution doesn’t occur to people.

Since businesses who want to hire bloggers do approach me, I’m happy to make introductions, as are all bloggers.

So politely approach bloggers, and ask that they keep you in mind to recommend for blog jobs.

3. Advertise your availability on your own site

Please remember to advertise your availability on your own site. Again, this method is so simple that it’s often overlooked. I’ve lost count of the numbers of blogs I’ve seen of people I know are looking for blog jobs – but there’s no mention of this on their own blogs.

So go and get some blog jobs – they’re widely available, they’re fun, and they’re profitable too.

Blogging PLUS coaching ensures that you’ll make money. Pro blogger and copywriter Angela Booth has been making money blogging since 2002. She’ll teach you how to blog the right way, so your blog is profitable from the start, with her bestseller. Angela’s blogging ebook pacakage has a companion blog filled with blogging tips.

Want to change career, but not sure what to do?

I have a university degree in Computer Science, and have been doing an SEM (Search Engine Marketing) job for the past 3 years, but now I feel somehow bored by it (plus, in the area where I live, the SEM jobs don’t pay that high anyway), and would like to change direction.

I’m thinking of doing something else in the IT world too, but not too sure what to do? I don’t mind doing anything, with the exception of programming (my brain is just not made for it), and web design (I have no artistic talent at all). Looking for something with annual pay range of around K to K. What about QA (Quality Assurance) or networking? Are they good?

Any recommendations? =)

Thanks!

Started a job and don't like it…. *please help!*?

I had a very difficult choice of 2 jobs. One role was something new that allowed me focus on something that I did a little bit at my old job and enjoyed (Search Engine Marketing). The other I have been doing awhile in my old job (web site producer) but the new role had a lot better circumstances. The search engine job had the best feeling despite the fact the pro/con list was heavily against it. I guess I wanted to try something new and my old job tainted me big time. Now that I have been at the search job for a week, I really wish I would have taken the other position. I feel as though I’m overqualified, in a hands off role, and just another cog in a wheel. While I don’t know how the other role would have turned out, I am at a loss of what to do. Do I quit after one week? Give it more time? Try to go after the old job even though I gave them a no? I’m hardly a job jumper being at my last job for 5 yrs but I can’t see this going anywhere good. Any help would be great. Thnx!

What are the odds of getting a job in your city?

Fact: I graduated a highschool and a college(both of them IT based), I have 2 years experience in a company in selling/marketing/programming. I speak 3 foreign languages. I have medium knowledge in several programming language(php/html/java script/mysql/flash) and picture editing(photoshop/corel draw) and I’m god at SEO(search engine optimization). Designed several web, sites, wrote and designed several articles for magazines, etc

So…my question is…would a man with this description find a job in your town? Because I live in Romania and in my city I can’t find a job in mostly any field(of course leaving out jobs like shoe sale sman or selling tomatoes in the market). But what are the odds of a guy like me(22 years old) finding a job in a similar position in your town?. I ask because I just want to know if it’s just my city/country that sucks or would I have the same fate in any city/country?
