Search engine optimization?Domain Age in seo terms?
Hello guys I have little confusion about seo optimization. My question is that suppose a domain name that is 14 year old has 6000 links (check by typing link:www.domain.com). On the other side there is a site that is 8 year old and has 3000 links. Which domain will come top in the search assume that they both are optimized for the keywords. How big of role does domain age play when it comes to seo?

Two websites are never optimised the same. Also the links coming into each site will not be the same. To my mind, both sites are ‘old’ and it would not be a factor. And the thing about actually knowing an answer to that question is that in 1 day / week / month / year the answer might be different.
I (politely) suggest you worry about something more important!

The 14 year old site has twice as many backlinks so I believe the correct answer would be the 14 year old site (don’t think they read your entire question). The other answerers are correct in saying that 8 and 14 years shouldn’t make a difference, but 3000 vs 6000 links should boost the 14 year old site past the 8 year old site.

The difference between 14 yrs old and 8 yrs old will not matter at all. Domain age is really only a factor when sites are new or relatively new. Age of links is probably slightly more important.
