RHH: Only answer this if you think you know of albums that no one else has heard?
*deep sigh*
PRELUDE (you can skip this part): Ok, so over the course of the past 2 years I’ve been listening to as many highly respected hip-hop albums as I could. Anyone who’s been around here a while might remember me asking questions like "Which albums from 1990-91 do you think deserve top 100 placement?" I asked those year by year, and then I’d listen to all the albums recommended and then build on my list of "GOAT albums IMO"
Well I got up to the 2000′s a few months ago, and I realized that most of the good recommendations I got in past questions came from Mechanical. So instead of asking a question for every year of the 2000′s I just went to his blog and listened to the first 50 of his Top 302 hip-hop albums of the 00′s. But of course, Mech’s opinion isn’t the only one that matters, and sometimes his opinions on albums are vastly different from mine, so…
ACTUAL QUESTION: What I need to know is, which albums released in the 2000′s do you think deserve top 100 placement OF ALL TIME, but they DON’T already appear on Mechanical’s top 50 list for the 00′s? Please star so that the knowledgeable people who aren’t on right now see this later. Here’s a link to Mech’s list: http://themechies.blogspot.com/2010/02/top-300-hip-hop-albums-of-00s.html
