Is web directory submission still important in SEO?
I would like to know if it is still important to submit to all the web directories for SEO.

Hmm
directory submissions are still important as they vary your backlink sources however search engines have devalued many directory sites. I would suggest you get your website listed in human reviewed directories as google knows who these are.
The reason for many directories being devalued is because many spam sites know that submitting to directories is an easy way to get backlinks – however many of these directories would accept more or less any websites – due to this many have been devalued and will not affect your websites credability – they will not hurt your website though – If this was the case then I would be listing my competitors in the directories which have been devalued.
Hope this answers your question and makes sense
thanks

Although directory submissions alone won’t help you achieve high search rankings, submitting to high quality directories should feature as part of your SEO campaign.

As Terry Said,
Human reviewed directories like Google (DMOZ) and Yahoo Drirectory gives authority to your web site and robots generally start they’re crawling from those directories and also give a credibility to your website since the content has been approved by a human and not only robots I believe it’s important in a SEO Strategy to include directory submission.
Hope it helps

Yes and No, It really depends on the directories that you are submitting to. The rule is the harder to get into it is the better it is (assuming it’s not neglected)

Very good answer. Plus even in google’s TOS its not advised.
