Google is of the first websites that have changed the long respected rule of ‘content’ (keywords are found on the webpage are directly linked to the search results, usualy in meta tags…) and are moving moreso to the rule of ‘most important’….
this rule works like this,… important websites that are well liked by the public are ‘in theory’ linked to the most by its peer’s (other websites of the same catagory)….
So,… simply talk with other websites and ask if you can exchange links, and you post his link on one of your pages (not on the main page, maybe even on a page the public will never bump into) and for him to do the same…. then the next time a search bot bumps that link your rank will increase…
so,… with this new rule… there has been a great deal of people who try to artifishialy inflate there rank by posting ‘aka spamming’ links on forums, or in comments, etc etc. Google/yahoo has a new policy on this type of cheating the rank system, and any website found doing this will automaticly be docked points, and sometimes removed altogether….
um…. or lastly you can pay to be a sponcered result and pay the quarter a click…. but thats up to you reallly…
you double posted this a few times…
here is your answer…
