How do you move up in the search engine for free?
I have heard that doing a search yourself and clicking on your site works. I also heard that having site traffic moves you up. Should I post my site on a message board to get lots of traffic? Please let me know!

Do the following:
1) Do Seo of the site: add keywords, title, description related to your pages.
2) Submit to the search engine, directories
3) Do link building
4) Do blogging, forum posting

posting your site is message boards is the best solution however it needs big effort from you.
google ranks your website based on the links refers to it, as much refers in other message boards, as good rank you’ll have.
add as much text in your homepage as you describing your site content.
add your site name in all pages in the title tag.
be sure to add sitemap in your site and link it in your google webmaster page.
search the web for the topic (enhance site rank), (site ranking), (search engine guide)

The first post has very good suggestions. Also make sure the keywords in your meta tags are relevant to your site. Clicking on your own site isn’t going to do much because you need a lot of traffic to make a difference.
