How about a question here that says, what would you do differently on this website? What makes a good website? How many hits should I expect from my website? How do I get rankings on my website? I think you are on the right track with the first question but, how do we know where to go? Have you thought about searching for your topic on yahoo and other search/answer sites? to answer questions so that you are seen as an authority for your subject? good luck

Word of mouth. Try to do something to bring in some customers. Maybe a free sample give away, or a contest. Whatever is appropriate for your business. The idea is to get people talking about it on discussion boards, email lists etc. Search engines will start picking it up. It won’t be as over the top as if you had paid for it but if the right person says the right thing at the right time….you get the idea. Good luck.

if you’re just concern of more traffic to your website consider advertising on http://www.rizingbandzradio.com. they only charge $1 per pixel and it is guaranteed for 5yrs maybe longer. you’ll get tons of exposure plus your helping to save and promote music.

As any professional would tell you, word of mouth is one of the best promotional ways to get you noticed. If your website is a business, make business cards and pass them out only to people you KNOW would benefit in using them. And if they become your employer and like your service(s), they in turn, will tell other people about it. Hence, word of mouth.
GOOD LUCK!!!
