are you supposed to put META tags on all web pages, or just the homepage for SEO?
ie, am I supposed to put the META description and META keywords in all pages of my website, or just for the homepage for SEO purposes? Thanks in advance.

That depends on if you wish for every page to be indexed by spiders. If you only want your homepage to appear in places such as Google or Yahoo! then only add META tags to your homepage.

You need to put meta tags and meta description for the whole website once while developing to this.It is necessary for this.

Contrary to popular belief, Meta tags aren’t as important as they were in the earlier days of Google. You can put your keywords in there but put focus more on your title tags, page layout, and other SEO.
I still personally put keywords in my Meta tags on my pages though. Just in case!
