Now, I have a pretty good supposition of WHY my Answer got reported ("report monkeys"), but I would just like to know why Yahoo! Answers decided to completely ignore my appeal, it would seem.

Now a bit of background: I Answer every now and then in the Mythology & Folklore section. My Answer is one which some may approve of, and others absolutely loathe, and this is to be expected, given the subject matter. Now, here’s the thing. I use relatively the same Answer for certain Questions (since people ask the same Questions over and over again). I have about 4 pre-written Answers for various Questions, although about 40% of the time I completely write from scratch if my pre-constructed Answers are irrelevant to the subject of the Question posed.

Now, here is what happened:

1.) I Answered a Question.
2.) Somebody reported me.
3.) I appealed.
4.) Yahoo! Answers responded.

Here’s where it’s odd. That same Answer I have been using for probably 4 months, and I have not once been reported until now. And between today and yesterday I have been reported three different times on three different Questions. (My Q&A are open, so I feel this plays into it, not to mention the fact that it’s only ONE report per Answer. I would rather not close my Q&A but if it happens once more I’ll have to.) Some times I get tons of upvotes, sometimes I get tons of downvotes, it’s to be expected, but to be reported? Well, I did nothing wrong.

I appealed, and I went down the ENTIRE list of Community Guidelines, addressing every issues, some in detail, some simply saying, "If you read it, you can see I didn’t breach [this]."

Well, Y!A Staff replied, saying: "Your content was deleted for personal site promotion. In Yahoo! Answers, you may not post links to personal websites or blog, when not relevant to question or answer. On review of your case, we have decided not to reinstate your content."

In my appeal, I EXPLICITLY addressed this matter, here:
"- Exploiting the community
While, yes, I do add a link to my own website, I also link to three OTHER websites, so it is hardly soliciting, but is more of "for further reading" and it is stated as such in my Answer. Also, when my website is mentioned, it is ALWAYS relevant. I would like to point out in the Community Guidelines: "…it’s OK to accompany a good, on-topic answer with a link to your website, blog, or email to offer more information," and that is just what I do."

So, I am just wondering, did the Yahoo! Answers staff just decide not to read THEIR Community Guidelines? My site is only given out when it is relevant (as was discussed earlier).

I am also wondering if there is an ability to appeal an appeal (if it would do any good).

I have been Top Contributor on and off for months in the Mythology & Folklore section and personally cannot fathom what is wrong with this.

Personally, I think that they should detail this in the Community Guidelines, as if they are what everybody is expected to follow, they should be clear as to what they are supposed to follow in the first place, but I can see where what you mention is valid. And when I said that (what you quoted) it was one per Answer, I only meant one for each one reported (total of only three), so I’m not sure if they even care to look at my Q&A, haha.
